Share to Slack
Yes. Connect your Coassemble workspace to Slack and push courses or collections straight to a channel or a direct message. Learners open them with a secure one-time link, with no separate login, and you're notified when someone starts or finishes a course.
Sharing through Slack delivers training where your team already works. Instead of sending people to a separate platform, you post a course or collection into a channel or a DM and they start it right there. It's useful for rolling out a new process, sharing product knowledge, or onboarding new hires.
Before you start
You'll need permission to connect apps and integrations in both Coassemble and your Slack workspace.
How do I connect Slack to my Coassemble workspace?
Before you can share to Slack, connect your Slack workspace to your Coassemble workspace.
Step 1: Open Settings
In Coassemble, select Settings from the left-hand menu.
Step 2: Open Connections and choose Slack
- Click Connections in the Workspace menu (in some accounts this appears under Integrations).
- Select Slack, then click Connect. You'll be taken to Slack to sign in to your workspace.
- Follow the prompts to sign in. Slack may give you an authentication code to set up the connection.
Step 3: Allow Coassemble to access your Slack workspace
Select Allow. Your Coassemble workspace is now connected to your Slack workspace.
Step 4: Decide who can use the connection
- If you have multiple creators in your workspace, decide whether the Slack connection is available to just you or to all creators.
- You can disable or remove the connection at any time under Settings > Connections.
How do I share a course or collection to Slack?
You can share both courses and collections. Post a course into a channel or send it to someone by direct message, and share entire collections the same way.
Step 1: Select Share
- From a course, click Share (inside the course, or under the course card on the dashboard).
- From a collection, click Share (inside the collection, or via the three-dot menu on the Collections page).
Step 2: Choose Slack and select recipients
Depending on your workspace setup, you'll either:
- Choose Slack as the sharing method, then select a channel or direct message recipient, or
- Use the Invite people field to @mention Slack members or #channels.
You'll see a dropdown of matching users or channels. Select where you'd like to share.
Step 3: Add an optional message and send
Write an optional message to go with your course or collection, then click Send invitation.
What do learners see?
- Learners get a Slack message with an Access course button (or course link).
- Selecting it generates a secure access link and opens the course in their browser.
- If a link expires, they can regenerate a new one instantly.
- Completed courses are marked in their Slack experience (such as a To-Do list, where available), which they can revisit anytime.
What notifications does Slack send?
You and your learners can stay on top of progress with real-time updates:
- Course started: see when training begins.
- Course completed: track completions as they happen.
- View insights: jump to Coassemble to see analytics.
Troubleshooting
- Can't connect Slack: confirm you can authorise apps in your Slack workspace, and that you're a Workspace owner (or have the right access) in Coassemble.
- Slack option not available: check that Slack is connected under Settings > Connections. Slack channel sharing depends on your plan, so see coassemble.com/pricing for what's included.
- Link doesn't work: make sure the learner has access to the course and is signed in, if your access settings require it.
How do I find the Coassemble app in Slack?
