Reporting FAQ

Coassemble shows results through Insights on each course and collection, covering views, completion, drop-off, sentiment, and per-person activity for learners you've identified. You can export to CSV, and with Embed you can pull results into your own product through the API, webhooks and in-page events.

What can I track in Coassemble?

Through Insights on a course or collection, you can see how many people viewed it, your completion rate, where learners drop off, and course sentiment. If learners are identified, you also get per-person data: who started, who finished, how long they spent, and how they scored on quizzes. You set a date range for any of this.

Do I need to identify learners to get reporting?

Not for the aggregate picture. Anyone who takes a course anonymously is an Anonymous Recipient (AR), and you'll still see views, drop-off, completion and sentiment. To see what specific people did, you need them to be Identified Recipients (IR), which means capturing their identity (usually an email) when they take the course. Per-person reporting is a paid-plan capability.

Why do some learners show up with random names?

Those are Anonymous Recipients whose identity wasn't captured. Coassemble gives them a placeholder name like "Brown Tiger" instead of a real one. To see real identities, capture learners as Identified Recipients when you share the course.

How reliable is anonymous tracking?

Coassemble works out unique anonymous people from their device, browser and session. There's no perfect way to count unique people while keeping them fully anonymous, especially on shared devices, where two people on the same device can be counted together. The reliable way to tie activity to a person is to identify them.

Can I export my results?

Yes. From the Insights view you can download a CSV for the date range you've selected, then open it in Excel, Google Sheets or anything that reads CSV to combine courses, build your own charts, or keep records.

Can I see quiz scores and the actual answers?

Yes. For a graded quiz, you can see each learner's score, their number of attempts, and a question-by-question breakdown showing what they answered and whether it was right or wrong.

Can I track a course I host in another LMS?

Yes, at the usage level. If you export a course as SCORM and host it elsewhere, SCORM usage insights show unique views, hosting locations and usage over time. Detailed completion and scoring for that course are reported by the LMS that hosts it.

Can I get results into my own systems?

Yes, with Embed. You can pull data through the tracking API, receive server-to-server webhooks when courses are created, started or completed, and listen for in-page events while a course is embedded. Support for moving data through MCP is coming soon.

Can I show results inside my own product?

Yes, with Embed. There are read-only analytics components for a specific course, collection or user, and you can build your own dashboards on the API.

Why don't I see any data yet?

Insights only start collecting once people open a course. If you've just shared it, give it time, or check that you've actually shared the link.

Is there a single dashboard across all my courses?

Not as a built-in view. You read results per course and collection through Insights and export to CSV to combine them, or build your own combined dashboard on the API.
