Supported file types
A reference for the file types you can use across Coassemble: creating courses, and adding images, video, audio, fonts, and logos.
Here's what you can upload, by purpose.
Creating a course
| Method | Supported file types | Notes |

| Transform a document | PDF, Word (.doc, .docx), PowerPoint (.ppt, .pptx), text (.txt), rich text (.rtf) | 50MB file size limit. For PDFs, use real text rather than scanned images. |
| Convert a presentation | PowerPoint (.ppt, .pptx), Apple Keynote (.key) | For a PDF or Google Slides file, export it as .pptx first. |
Media in a course

| Video | Standard video files | 1GB maximum per upload; compress larger files first. You can also embed YouTube or Vimeo links. |

Frequently asked questions
What's the file size limit for document transformation?
50MB. For larger files, split the content into smaller documents before uploading.
Can I upload a Google Slides file?
Not directly. Export it as a .pptx file first, then convert it.
What's the maximum video upload size?
1GB. For larger videos, compress them below that limit, or embed a YouTube or Vimeo link instead.
